Damaged photos restored to life

Sample 1

These black and white photos were taken in 1947, and were damaged and faded. They were blended, enhanced and subtle colour was added before transferring onto canvas. This brought to life an otherwise stowed away photo. A perfect anniversary present for a grandparent.

Sample 2

The original image (left), a self-portrait of a mother sharing a tender moment with her baby was given three quite distinctive artistic effects.

• In the first example, the image was zoomed in, converted to sepia, and given a lighting effect to remove some background and focus on the faces only.
• In the second example, the image was zoomed in, converted to black and white, and also given a lighting effect to remove some background and focus on the faces.
• In the final example, the image was zoomed in and converted to enhance the detail in colour only, giving an artistic effect.

Sample 3

This was a blending of two original images:

The first was the moment of a brotherly kiss, and the second an image of the two brothers’ feet, showing the size comparison. These two images were blended, the background was removed to make the shot tender and moving, and text was added. Here is the result:
